The Portuguese Bend Reserve is a 399 acre park set up in 2005 in Palos Verdes. It's a wonderful place to go hiking with Pacific views. It feels incredibly close to Catalina Island. And this cute little 3.1 mile loop brings you up the Rim Trail, past an amazing pillow lava outcrop called Ailor's Cliff in honor of Bill Ailor, a conservation founder.
Once down the trail to the beach it is very steep and covered with bushes, flowers and weeds. It was all worth it in the end. We had several warnings about rattlesnakes but didn't see any! If you like to be outdoors you will LOVE this trail.
