Samuel P Taylor State Park

We camped in site #7 (Creekside Loop) over Memorial Day Weekend.  The previous reviews are pretty accurate (including the racoons !)  We LOVED this park.  Very beautiful and quiet (except for the small children awake & loudly riding their bikes @ 7:10 am).  One word of advice: Don't book Campsite #9 unless it is the ONLY one left in the Park and you are desperate to go.  It is seriously the smallest 'campsite' I have ever seen and they really should not call it one.  We did not do any hiking, as the kids are still too small to last very long, so we looked for good 'day trips' from there.  We decided the best 2 are the Pt. Reyes Lighthouse and Stinson Beach.  Took only approx. 25 min. to get to Stinson from the Campground.  Don't know how long the Lighthouse took to get to because we got lost getting there and it was a total downpour on the way back, making it very slow going.  The countryside it amazing.  Overall a fantastic camping experience, even in the Rain.  It got quite cold at night, so bring firewood or be prepared to buy it from the Park @ $7 a bundle.  Great place for small kids, as the traffic is minimal and it is safe to ridebikes & scooters.
