Directions: head east on hwy 189 from Orem, UT. Drive 14.4 miles past 800 North light at the mouth of the canyon. Turn North and drive 4.8 miles on the Alpine Loop Scenic Byway (same road to get to Sundance ski resort). Just past the Aspen Grove lodge, there you will see the Aspen Grove trail head parking lot on the West side of the road. This is the same trailhead used for hiking Mt. Timpanogos. I know there is a way to hike from the Sundance resort, but I've never done that. The Hike: The Stewart falls hike is about 3.5 miles round trip from the Aspen grove trailhead. The beginning of the hike from the Aspen grove trail head up onto the ridge is rather steep. The end of the trail down into the falls is really steep also. Most of the hike is rather easy and quite level gently going up and down across the side of the mountain through the trees. I visited Stewart falls many times as a college student. I recently visited with my small children. The dirt trail is not stroller friendly. Take water with you. Wear a hat and sunscreen. There is some shade but not enough to fully protect you. Parking: Do not park illegally. The parking lot can fill up quickly on weekends. If you park illegally, you will likely be TOWED! Do not park in the Aspen Grove Alumni Resort parking area. You will be TOWED! Fee: I believe that you must pay a $6.00 fee for parking. I've always gone with people that worked at the resort so I didn't have to pay the fee. Other people please give an update on the fee.
