The Anza-Borrego Desert state park is huge and can not be effectively seen in a single day. So many miles of desert back roads with so much nature to see. We came down to see the super flower bloom. Yes the bloom was best around the town of Borrego Springs and the crowded and traffic were bad even during a Thursday but we spent most of our time further south. They even had the road to the visitor center closed due to the amount of people. However the rest of the park, like normal, was pretty deserted. The weather and temp in this part of the desert can be very dramatic so go prepared and take plenty of water. Be cautious on the dirt roads and have a good map, getting lost is not a good option.
