Avalon city surrounds beautiful Avalon Bay on the southeast end of Catalina Island. Avalon has been a famous tourist destination since the early 1900s. From the 1920s and beyond, Avalon has attracted movie stars, dignitaries and presidents, and still retains its charm and charm today. Avalon, which has many hotels, restaurants, beaches and recreation activities, is the only integrated town on Catalina Island.
If you arrive at Catalina Island on a high-speed ferry, you will dock at the Cabrillo Mole ship's landing. It's a short walk from there to the city's main stretch. Guests staying at Pavilion Hotel or Hotel Atwater can take advantage of a luggage service and there is transportation for guests staying at Mt Ada. Crescent Avenue is Avalon Bay's primary road, turning into a pedestrian mall between Clarissa and Metropole Avenues.
Off Crescent, the city's main beaches, many shops and restaurants will be discovered. The Green Pleasure Pier is the starting point in the middle of the Avalon Bay for countless sea trips, including the Undersea Expedition, Glass Bottom Boat, Flying Fish Voyage, Discover Two Harbors Tour and Ocean Expedition.
A block away from Crescent, between Catalina and Sumner Avenues, you will find the Tour Plaza, the starting point for land journeys, including the Avalon Scenic Drive, Skyline Drive, East End Adventure and Inland Expedition. You'll also discover the Miniature Golf Gardens next to the Tour Plaza.
Offering ticket kiosks are the Tour Plaza, Green Pleasure Pier, Catalina Casino and the ferry terminal.
Avalon also boasts a number of attractions including Descanso Beach Club, Catalina Island Museum, Wrigley Memorial & Botanical Gardens, Casino Point Dive Park, Lovers Cove Marine Preserve and Catalina Casino.
