This is a great beautiful state park. Beach access is easy and you can walk it north and south for a long ways....it is fairly flat and a good place to fly your kite. The park has good parking, picnic tables and nice restrooms. Camping is a premium here and can be quite crowded in the summer. The waves were raging the day we visited and the surfers were out in force. They were being tossed areound like a "pea in a whistle", but a few got up and when they did the reward was a long ride to shore. The beach is long and in some places rocky. The hard sand would be fine for jogging. You get a distant view of Yaquina Head; even on a hazy day. There is a picnic table and restrooms with a fairly easy path to the beach from the parking area. There is a wooded campground on the east side of 101.
