Tucked away in Montecito by the fancy Biltmore Hotel, and something of a hidden gem. Depending on tides and fluctuations of the sand, some parts of the beach may not be easily accessible. Though you'll often see off-leash dogs here, unlike Arroyo Burro beach, this isn't officially sanctioned.
The Cabrillo Boulevard Bike Path is one of the most popular bike trails in Santa Barbara. The path connects Leadbetter Beach and Shoreline Park in Santa Barbara to Butterfly Beach in Montecito and is about 4.5 miles long. It also passes by Stearns Wharf, East Beach, and the beautiful Santa Barbara Cemetery.
Getting here is easiest if you just drive toward the ocean on Olive Mill Road which turns into Channel Drive near the Four Seasons Biltmore Resort. Park along the waterfront on Channel Drive or on Butterfly Lane if necessary. Near Butterfly Lane there is a stair to the widest part of the beach.
This beach is dog freindly so bring your puppy and enjoy the views!
