What a stunning landscape - if you are in Western Ireland, most certainly try your hardest to take a day exploring the Burren! Bare limestone mountains formed during the last Ice Age so simply walk around on this ancient sea bed - which is stunning in itself, there are ancient portal tombs and wedge tombs to explore as well as stone ring forts and the overgrown and tree covered remains of forts. A very special and otherworldly landscape. Best to be explored with a rented car - the better to stop where you like and explore when you wish. I would suggest budgeting a day to explore the park and all of its sites (including a trip over to the Cliffs of Moher!) Great for all ages.
