Catch the aerial views Rajgad fort Maharashtra

Rajgad Fort is around 1,400 above MSL. This is one of the largest forts that Shivaji ever used. Was the capital the Maratha Empire under him for almost 26 years, before he moved his capital to Raigad. The fort has a huge diameter at the base, supposedly around 40 km in all. Would have been extremely difficult to lay siege to it for sure. The fort has remains of palaces, a few water cisterns and caves. There is a lovely trek from here to Torna Fort which we saw a few avid trekkers attempting. We unfortunately could not this time, but its there on our agenda for our next visit.
