Cathedral Wash Trail

You have to pay $20 to enter Glen Canyon Recreation Area (for a week). Enter off AZ-89A near Marble Canyon, then drive toward Lees Ferry. There's a pullout on the left after 1.5 miles, with a single sign showing a pictograph of hikers. You enter the canyon on the uphill side and walk under the road toward the Colorado River. The cliffs and canyon floor changed as the canyon worked its way down through geological layers. We saw no other people. The erosion patterns have worked the stone into amazing shapes, different at each stage.
