Most of the stopping bays are on the way down towards Hout Bay. There are at least a couple which are circular and big with toilet facilities. You get mesmerising views across to Hout Bay and to the right to Hout Bay beach in the distance and the fantastic mountain backdrop. Without being too flippant, if the good Lord ever called me for duties in the great stairway in the sky I would seriously try and make a final visit to Chapman's Peak Drive sit for an hour or so looking across to Hout Bay and the shimmering sun reflecting on the water. It is one of the great scenic joys in life.
