The Nature Park, located adjacent to Harriman-Bear Mountain State Park's southwestern border, is heavily wooded with steep slopes and rocky slopes and consists of a number of mountain tops and valleys crossed by several small streams.Harriman State Park, located in the counties of Rockland and Orange, is the second largest park in the system of parks, with 31 lakes and reservoirs, 200 miles of hiking trails, two beaches, two public camping areas, a network of group camps, miles of streams and picturesque roads, and numerous species of wildlife, views and points of view. The main facilities of Harriman State Park include Lakes Welch, Sebago, Tiorati and Silvermine, the recreation area of Anthony Wayne, Sebago Cabins and Beaver Pond Campgrounds.
Take the White Bar trail (white blazes) from the parking area until you reach a left turn onto the Kakiat trail (white blazes as well). Turn left on trail Kakiat. Take the Kakiat trail until you reach the start of an orange blazed trail (unnamed). Go straight on the blazed orange trail and take it until you reach a blazed (unnamed) blue trail. Go straight onto the blue blazed trail (see slightly right). Take the blue trail until you reach the blue trail's marked end. You will reach a "T" intersection with the orange trail approximately 30'+ further on the (now unmarked) trail.
When you cross it, turn left onto the orange blazed trail. Go straight (no left turn) to the Kakiat trail at the end of the orange blazed trail and take it to the Blue Disc trail (blue blazes could be better marked at key points!). When (soon!) the trails of the Blue Disc and Kakiat diverge right to stay on the trail of the Blue Disc and take the trail back to the parking area.
