Derryclare Lough

Connemara, Co Galway, is a beautiful spot to stop off for some photos. It looks like the kind of place you can do both some severe hiking to reach, but you can actually just pull up at the side of the road, take some pictures. It’s here you’ll get your classic postcard shot of Connemara, featuring Pine Island with the peaks of the Twelve Bens in the background.

The drive takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. This can be a busy spot as it’s easily accessible and is a very popular stop off point for tour buses. Early morning or late evening is probably your best bet to get some time to yourself here.
