Emerald Lake Trail

A relatively short hike that has tremendous views. We arrived at about 10:30 a.m.(Saturday) and the parking lot was packed. Finally we snared a spot, but only because we have a Jeep Renegade and it's short so we fit in an unofficial spot. Trail was super crowded, but many people decided to stop at Dream Lake instead of going all the way to Emerald. Lots of hikers with snowshoes; I felt fine with my YakTrax. Poles were helpful for the way back down. Weather was lovely, basically calm and 50's. Layers are good. If you can avoid a Saturday, that would be my suggestion.
