This park is made up of Minnesota's largest remaining Big Woods vegetation. Prairie Creek with its picturesque waterfalls traverse the rolling hills and valleys. During pre-settlement periods, the Big Woods reflects the central hardwood community, containing maple sugar, basswood, oak, ash, and ironwood trees, over 100 wildflowers varieties, and many ferns and mushrooms.
Recommended for nature buffs and trails also include some useful information along the way as well as the occasional "You Are Here" maps as the trails are divided into different directions at the time. Always bear in mind where you are.
