The greenway along the Hudson River is one of the most popular places to ride. It offers beautiful water views and a dedicated bike path that is closed to car traffic.
This two-lane bike path runs along the West Side of Manhattan, parallel to the Hudson River.
Head to one of the many Citi Bike stations along 11th or 12th Avenue and use your bike key or pre-purchased ride pass to begin. If you need to get a pass, use the Citi Bike app or kiosk at the station and follow the on-screen prompts to complete your purchase. From here you can either ride south toward Battery Park or north toward Riverside Park.
Suggested starting stations:
12 Ave & W 40 St
W 20 St & 11 Ave
W 14 St & The High Line
West St & Chambers St

Check the Citi Bike map for other nearby stations.
Remember, the first 30 minutes of each ride on a classic bike are included in the price of a single ride, day pass and 3-day pass. If you're an annual member, the first 45 minutes of each ride on a classic bike are included. If you upgrade to an electric bike, it will be an additional $2/ride. Great trail, great views, an urban gem for New Yorkers (I'm from MD). My only complaint is that a number of riders ignore the signs saying "go slow, be courteous" and ride like they are racing, some in packs. This would be ok if the trail were not so crowded. The trail is not terribly wide and often must accommodate walkers, strollers, etc and the bikers are going dangerously fast. This should not keep you from trying this trail, it is great, but be mindful of these racers.
