This is another great location for the 4th of July but it will get crowded. The road to the trailhead is in great shape and allowed you to zip right up. The trailhead is petty empty on account of being late by the end of a long holiday weekend. If your planning an out and back on highway 2, heading east and returning west, do NOT attempt on the last day of a long weekend or really even a Sunday during the summer. The traffic coming back from the Stevens Pass area is horrible until you get through Sultan. This trip was the second time we got stuck in traffic in this area.
