One of the most amazing attractions of the city of Zarcero, Costa Rica is the Parque Francisco Alvardoa which has been entertaining guests with strange topiary figures and shapes since the 1960s.
The Costa Rican artist Evangelisto Blanco who took over the care of the park in the 1960s and began shaping the shrubs and hedges into abstract figures and forms such as carved animals and dinosaurs and some alphabet letters (one bush was even shaped into the likeness of Jesus himself). Possibly the most stunning and iconic creations of the park area the series of plant green based arches that are laid out in rows that create the effect of naturally grown tunnels, through which visitors can stroll which makes this whole experience indeed an exception.
