Point Defiance Park Outer Loop

Great hike with the kids. Bathrooms half way through and great views. Trails can be a bit muddy and trafficked during the weekend, but it's a beautiful hike with a variety of sceneries from evergreens and ferns to beaches and shoreline. Owen beach is nice too and you can rent kayaks down there as well. Great for picnics and big family events. Beautiful rainforest scenery (everything is green and in some places on the trails the canopy is so thick you can't see the sky) very pretty. Point Defianc Zoo is located in the park. The Rose Garden is beautiful in the summer. Also last week in June is The Taste of Tacoma located in the park , good food and music and wine tasting. I live locally and I am at the park at least once or twice a week.
