Sometimes possible to surf here when the swell is coming in from the south, but it is not one of the more popular surf spots in the area due to the length of the trail. For those surfers who don’t mind a short walk and enjoy a bit of solitude while out on the water, this could be the perfect spot. Check your tide charts before going. We started about 2 hours before tide was totally out. Beautiful boardwalk to beach, takes at least 30 minutes to hike in. No one else was on the beach and you could walk a great distance. Coming back with low tide we found numerous large star fish and sea anemones clinging to the rocks around the small islands. One of our favorite hikes and beaches at the Pacific Rim National Park.
