Dip in the Blue waters of Seitan Limania Beach

Seitan Limania beach is on the Akrotiri Peninsular Crete is one of the most beautiful in Crete (and some of the finest beaches in the Balkans are the beaches in Crete). The road to get to this beach has been named as one of the most scenic coastal drives in the world.

The beach is located 22 km northeast of Chania and 2 km east from Chordaki village, on the east side of Akrotiri. The name of the area (Seitan=Satan in Turkish) means cursed and comes from the dangerous waves in the surrounding area. 

Stefanou's beach is a small wonderful beach with profound azure waters that are formed in the northern cove. The beach is protected from the big and dangerous waves because it is surrounded by high rocky mountains and the water is crystal. Great marble rocks are standing high on the right and left sides of the bay to safeguard the beach from poor weather. The beach's fame has been growing rapidly since 2010, a few years after the asphalt highway reached the site; the beach is crowded in during peak season.

Just remember that the road to get to this beach is asphalted, and is surrounded by rock formations. This road tests the skill, and courage, of any driver. It’s not for anyone suffering from vertigo or a fear of landslides. One mistake and it's a free fall to your death.
