Beautiful and challenging hike! It took about 6 hours from start to end and then back to start with a half-hour lunch break. There were some intense elevation changes, but luckily there were many switchbacks. The most difficult section was near Eckert Bridge where it was very rocky right next to the creek. We saw many other folks hiking and many dogs and families. It was a little muddy but nothing you can't handle without good hiking boots! We did have some allergy issues in our group so make sure you have your medication on you if you have allergies or asthma. Also, there is a bee hive. We actually didn't see any wildlife except for those bees and a few geese, but the scenery was absolutely beautiful. Other than that, make sure you bring enough water and food because this is no short hike! 11.1 mile!!
