We camped at cart in #12 which was nicely wooded and private while also being relatively (1/4 mile) close to parking lot/toilets/showers. The bathroom facilities were the cleanest I've ever seen at a state park. The pebble beach just about 50-100 yards from our campsite was a hit with our 5 and 7 year olds- more so than the lighthouse.
We also enjoyed the short hike up the trail nearby (day something, can't remember exact name), which ended at amazing views. We went in mid June and it was quite windy near the lake and about 55-65 degrees f. Make sure to bring a beanie hat and some warmer clothes to be comfortable near the lake. Our campsite was nicely buffered from the wind. Sites 16 and 17 looked great too but more open. We booked our campsite a year in advance.
