Hike Spy Rock Trail

Drive in by the Montebello Fishery and park by the trailhead. It is straight uphill from the parking lot and the final climb up the rock was a bit dicey, but the end result was worth it all. Dirt road to the parking area is well marked. Fire road on the way up to the trail is wide and without attractions, unless it was this past weekend and the leaves were in full color. Hike is uphill the entire way and rocks provide some unstable footing at times. Spur trail off the AT is to the right and leads to the base of Spy Rock. An intermediate rock scramble up to the top provides an incredible 360 degree view. Leave your overnight pack at the bottom of the rock and climb up without the extra weight.
