Situated between the peaks of the Vosges mountains and the Alsace plain, Riquewihr is a medieval town in the core of the Alsatian vineyards, categorized as one of France's« Most Beautiful Villages ». In the spring and summer, admirably decorated with flowers, the city takes on Christmas colors during the Advent period, in a unique atmosphere that combines the magic of Christmas with the traditions of Alsace.
Riquewihr is certainly the object of an enchantment which lasts for centuries. Since the Middle Ages, its design and composition have not altered, and each piece of architecture is maintained miraculously.
You're luring in every corner and every little road. Probably the larger competitor Colmar is more popular, but I would say it's not less appealing, if not more! You don't have to choose between the two basically because they are both very brief driving distance from each other. But there are also many tourists here, of course, particularly Germans and Russians.
