Murdeshwar is a town in Bhatkal Taluk of Uttara Kannada district in the state of Karnataka, India. Murdeshwar is another name of the Hindu god Shiva.Located on the Murudeshwara beach its a stunning piece of architecture. As soon as you reach near the temple you would be greeted by a gopura with two elephant statutes guarding it. Just close by is the Murudeshwara beach and its a stunning view from the temple.Climb up few stairs and you are taken to the structure housing a cave. The entry fee for the cave is Rs 10 for adults and Rs 5 for children (I did not get a chance to visit the cave).Just behind this structure is a huge statute of Lord Shiva and its magnificient. There are also other stautues in the vicinity like Lord Krishna reciting the Gita to Arjun, Lord Ganesha statute, This place can be reached by a rickshaw from the Murudeshwara railway station.
