The Zwinger Palace in Dresden is known all over the globe for its lovely baroque architecture. It was constructed during Augustus the Strong's reign in 1709. Various artists create the notable carvings adorning the gallery walls and assist make this one of the primary attractions in the national capital of Saxony.
The porcelain glockenspiel, which chimes every 15 minutes, is a famous location at the Zwinger. Every season, the chimes ' melody changes, playing the corresponding season from "Four Seasons" by Vivaldi, as well as compositions by Bach, Wagner, Mozart and Weber. Make sure that you allow time to visit some of the Zwinger's museums. I strongly suggest the Gallery of the Old Masters where you can see Raphael's renowned Sistine Madonna. Also included in the ticket is the Rüstkammer and certainly worth the visit. An incredible array of medieval arms and armor.
