Grant-Kohrs Ranch is a preserved Montana Ranch of the late 1800s and early 1900s. Its a little hard to find as my GPS had difficulty but well worth the time. The volunteers and rangers were very knowledgeable and the tour of the farm house was great. Later we went out to the blacksmith shop and learned about branding cattle. The barn has a great collection of carriages from the time period. The bunk house and other preserved buildings gave a real picture of the time period. Free entrance, free chuckwagon coffee, free blacksmith handiwork, free wagon rides, and free house tours! We toured for two hours with friends from the community and was impressed with this working ranch! It is open year around but we discovered summer season gave us hands on experiences. Make sure you ask for house tour as it is filled with original furniture and furnishings! We thought the walk through may not be worth the time, but was wrong again. Two hours gives the feel and experience but will return to digest all that this working historical ranch offers.
