We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at this site. There is a good three mile round trip hike that travels through the flats and the bluffs. As you hike you learn the story of the place. We both enjoyed and were saddened by its story. That is to say that it is told well enough to pluck at your heart strings. The visitor's center is packed full with information and the staff is knowledgeable and wants to share. This really isn't a place for people who want to get out of their cars and see fully restored buildings, but rather for folks who are interested in a good walk and learning about a place in time in the development of our nation.
