A haven for birds, the metro parks claim some 260 of the 400 bird species found in Ohio have been spotted at Pickerington Ponds. There are many viewing areas with observation decks and binoculars. Bird watching is not the only activity that you can do. The park is also home to a large brown bat population. Hiking trails are natural and easy. On the Blacklick Creek Greenway Trail, because it is a hard surface, you can bike, jog and inline skate. There are even trails that will connect to Blacklick Woods and Three Creeks. Pets are allowed.
