Visit An anchors' cemetery (Praia do Barril)

I'm not a fan of big hotel complexes and I much prefer to stay in more friendly,family places.Praia do Barril is one of them.Packed with flowers,trees,beautiful grass,specious bungalows,swimming pool,grocery store and little bars and restaurant this place has everything you need for a chill out holidays.And the beach is absolutely beautiful. It's easiest to take the little train from Pedras de El-Rei (about EU 1.50), because the walk over to Barril can get pretty hot. Once there, walk out to Barril beach; the sign says if you walk 1.5 km to the right, you will come to the nude section, but really once you gone about 750m, pretty much everyone is nude. No one knows who added the first 100 anchors but locals continued adding the gnarled weights to honor the small tuna fishing community that once flourished in the area.
