Step through the Fullerton door in the Prairie style and enter an unparalleled beauty concealed garden. The restful silence is broken by only bird songs and the sound of a soft waterfall. Follow the stone walk around the lily pool and explore a pavilion, ring of councils and various indigenous plantations. This is the vision of landscape architect Alfred Caldwell: a concealed garden intended to resemble a river that meanders through a wonderful Midwestern prairie for the individuals of Chicago.
Perfect for bringing a picnic, meditating or reading a book. There's some Lakeshore Dr vehicle traffic noise, but it's muted. The place is big enough that you can find a place to sit and be alone on an uncrowded day (like we came on Saturday).
