Edmund Gorge, formerly known as Quiet or Lower Gorge, is a rocky canyon of the Kamenice River, the last of the three gorges in the lower reaches of the river east of Hřensko. A two hour ride from Prague takes you to its border with Germany and into the heart of Bohemian Switzerland. Alternatively you can come in from the German side via Dressden and Bad Schandau. Our trip was booked through Viator .After a rigorous trek to Pravcika brana , the largest sandstone arch in Europe, you descend down to the dizzying depths of a gorge carved out over the centuries by the Kamenice river. What follows is a trek through the pristine rocky passages by the side of the river , a small boat ride and a further trek till you reach civilization. A must see place whenever you are in Central Europe. Take your best cameras along. Its a virtual nature photography workshop.
