Camp to the Desolation Wilderness

Reservations need to be made in advance but this area is absolutely gorgeous! You can take a boat taxi across Echo Lake to Tamarack Lake is only 1 mile (though mostly uphill). From there, we set up a camp and did day hikes to the other lakes. Lake of the Woods was particularly lush and green and peaceful. Great backpacking first for me since the hike to the first set up camp site wasn't too far and the pay off was huge. We camped right next to Tamarack Lake, had clean water and beautiful views.
