Carlton Gardens

The heritage-listed Carlton Gardens is home to a variety of wildlife, including brushtail possums, a famous picnic and barbecue area.

These late-nineteenth-century gardens feature dramatic tree-lined avenues, a magnificent fountain, formal flower beds and miniature ponds.

The gardens are home to the Royal Exhibition Building, which is listed as a magnificent world heritage. On the southern boundary of the gardens are the Melbourne Museum and IMAX Cinema.

Lots of locations with a variety of well-established trees to sit and relax. A breath of fresh air in the CBD's southern range. Public space is exceptionally well preserved.
