A Midnight Dip In Terme Di Saturnia

In the town of Manciano, just a few kilometers from the village of Saturnia, springs of sulphuric waters form large ponds with a temperature of 37.5° C, creating free and open-air thermal “pools”.

The two main thermal waterfalls are the Cascate del Mulino and the Cascate del Gorello, are located on an old mill's grounds. The large basin above the waterfall creates a dreamy atmosphere, which is especially pleasant at night.

Throughout the year, the access to the pools are public and free. Don't be afraid to dive even in the cold winter season: you're not going to feel cold and you're going to enjoy a perfect natural landscape. There are also several thermal resorts for those who prefer comfort.

Car parks not far from the tanks and without a lot of luggage go and enjoy some healthy relaxation in the water. Personal advice: you should arrive already dressed in swimsuit and pool slippers, to avoid the ritual of having to change in the parking lot.

There are no cabins to change and where to put your luggage. I also recommend the bathrobe rather than the towel, because as soon as you come out of the water the breeze is felt (especially in March). Very relaxing back massage that you can do by putting yourself under the falling water of the falls. I also recommend it to families, even if the small children, as there is no sand or anything else, could get bored in the long run. However, it is an experience to do.
