This place will not blow your mind, but you have to go see it.It is the oldest masonry fort in North America and loaded with history. It was built out of a semi-rare form of limestone called coquina which is tiny shells compacted over the millions of years and then carved into stones and left to dry. They actually absorbed and ate the cannonballs fired at it over the centuries. Just a bit of its history. It overlooks the bay and the inlet from the ocean and the views are breathtaking. Must see on your drive up or down the east coast of Florida. Take plenty of water with you as it is Florida and it is hot up top.
