This is the most wonderful spot of our visit to Iceland, almost felt like a dream. The roads leading here are normally not allowed for non-4WD cars. There is parking right at the rift where the main waterfalls are, but it is really only advisable to take a 4WD on the access road. (There is parking 2km away for 2WDs. From there you have to walk the rest.) The day we visited, there was about 15 other people and one very annoying drone to spoil the tranquility. There is lots to explore here - take the time - with numerous tracks. It is a stunning landscape amidst a harsh environment. I'm not catholic, but when you think of the garden of adam and eve, it should've looked something like this.
