The Tourlitis, located right opposite the Venetian castle of Chora, is the only automatic lighthouse in Greece, that was built in the middle of the sea.
This lighthouse first operated in 1897 and was renovated in 1994. This is the first automatic lighthouse of the Greek lighthouse system as the lighthouse keeper doesn't stay there but observes its function from away. The stone column on which This lighthouse was built had been shaped by millennia of natural erosion into the perfect pedestal for a coastal lighthouse.
Other than snapping a picture with this beautiful lighthouse, you can walk around the village of Choro. There are several churches on top of the village — plenty of viewing areas for photos of Kapsali and surrounding area.
