Gyeonghwa Station is a tiny railway station in Gyeonghwa-dong, Jinhae-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, popular place for cherry blossom. The station is neighboring to the north from Seongjusa Station and to the south from Jinhae Station. Railway services were discontinued in and out of Gyeonghwa Station in 2006. You can walk through the surrounding tracks with rows of cherry blossom trees, making a flowers-filled tunnel effect. Gyeonghwa Station is one of the top three places in Jinhae for taking pictures of the cherry blossoms along with Anmingogae Road and Yeojwacheon Bridge. The region is often featured in Korean movies and dramas such as the movie "Boy Goes to Heaven (2005)" and the drama "Spring Waltz (2006)." There is a "cherry blossom festival shuttle train" every year during the Jinhae Gunhang Festival, where you can appreciate the perspective of beautiful flowers in a slow velocity train. More lately, clean toilets have been introduced to make the tourists more comfortable. It is one of the most beautiful cherry blossom viewing sites in Korea and has been listed on CNN's 50 Beautiful Places to Visit in Korea.
During April 1 to April 10, Jinhae Gunhangje Cherry Blossom Festival is held nearby.
