Devils Tower National Monument: Hiking Session

This natural feature is much, much bigger than we anticipated, photos don't do it justice. It has deep folds and creases all the way round and we enjoyed watching some rock climbers make their way down....apparently thousands of climbers apply to climb this every year. It is a very easy walk around the base, a good path and I think there was the odd bench here and there. We saw several deer right on the path and they weren't bothered by our presence. Thought I heard a rattlesnake so do as the signs say and stay on the path! At busy times the upper car park may be full so you may have to walk up from the lower car park....maybe there is a shuttle bus, not sure.All in all this is a wonderful thing to see so do make the journey!
