Castelluccio di Norcia is a small Umbrian village known for the beautiful flowering. Castelluccio di Norcia is located in the heart of Valnerina, inside the Parco Nazionale dei Monti Sibillini .
The Castelluccio di Norcia plateau is divided into three sections: Pian Grande, Pian Piccolo and Pian Perduto, surrounded by Sibillini Mounts and Vettore Mount.
Every year, during weeks of May to July, an incredible mosaic of colors breaks the chromatic monotony of the grazing lands and it can fill eyes and heart. Thousands of flowers bloom the plateau, bursting with colors, with shades ranging from yellow ocher to red, from violet to white. You can admire lentils, gentianella, poppies, narcissuses, violets, asphodels, Eugenia violet, clovers, oxalis and many more.
If you have a mountain bike, motorbike or convertible this is a fantastic place to stroll around, if you don't have a mountain bike, you can enjoy horse rental service down below the city. Besides, for more active people, Castelluccio is universally recognized as the homeland of outdoor sports. Over the years, the little town between Umbria and Marche has became the point of reference for those who love hiking, paragliding, mountain biking, archery, as well as trekking, horseback riding or a special trekking together with donkeys and mules!
