Hohenzollern Castle is the ancestral seat of the imperial House of Hohenzollern. The castle was built in the mid-19th century as a family memorial to the Hohenzollern clan. Its design is a ripoff of English Gothic Revival architecture and the Châteaux of the Loire Valley. To get there you will need to hike a difficult trail for about 30-minutes or take a bus/shuttle you can take for a small fee.
But the castle views and exhibits are well worth it! Awesome photo ops when the sun breaks through the clouds! No need to pre-book your ticket. Car park cost around €2 and the transport was around €9 for 3 of us for a return. Did not try the restaurant, but the rooms are beautiful, the staff was very helpful and friendly. Would recommend this place for a family day out.
