Lullingstone Loop is a 6.6 mile loop trail located near Eynsford, England. It is a very nice trail that takes you up and around the country park. The path goes across the golf course and alongside crop fields. Nice views, and popular route makes for a nice walk. A lovely wide open space, whilst a little muddy this time of year, I know in Summer the view and scent from the fields of lavender next door are intoxicating. Within the park there is a nice compact children's play area, reasonably priced cafe, visitor centre, picnic benches and plenty of trails to follow. The Discovery Trail (Red) in particular is best for anyone with young children, it ensures you walk past all of the carved wooden 'Mega Bugs', a free zip-wire and 'Hide and Beak', which is a bird hide for children to sit down in and spot one of the many local residents flying in to visit the feeders. 1.5 miles long in total, it is easy to follow with coloured posts and directional arrows. In the heat of Summer, the shaded Woodland Walk, which is two miles, is better if you prefer to see many coppiced and pollarded ancient trees. The Lullingstone Loop (Black) trail is better suited for adults only, covering a four mile loop of the entire park, offering much better views of the entire area and passing by the Roman Villa, but do take time to extend your visit to include some of the other sights on the discovery trail, as they are well worth while. A word of caution, there is a section of the Woodland and Discovery Trails that are also part of an active Horse route, so bring Wellington boots, it can get muddy in parts, and take extra care whilst walking along the Golf Course/River Bank/Orchard. Also being expansive and open to the elements, it can get quite windy/chilly, so do pack a jacket. Whilst the entire site is free of charge to us, vehicle parking costs £1.50 Monday-Friday, and £2.50 during the weekend and on Bank Holidays. Do make a note of your vehicle registration before walking to the Pay & Display machine as you will need to input it, in full, before payment. All in all a very nice country park, staff were very friendly and helpful, facilities were excellent. Well worth a visit when in the area.
