Matthew Henson Trail/ State Park is a great between Aspen hill and Layhill in Maryland. this park, or "greenway" runs along the turkey branch parkway, and is bordered by viers mill rd (route 586) and Connecticut ave (route 185). it makes for nice scenery for those running or walking along the Matthew Henson trail. A bit of history about this park's namesake, Matthew Henson, born in charles county, Maryland, was the first african-american arctic explorer. so it is befitting that the Maryland state parks commission would name a long park after him.
