This Glacier is located in south coast of Iceland. It is not far from highway 1 to Vik. To see the enormous magnitude of the natural ice cap that moves along the land on it's own. To see the blue within in it, and the glacier lakes it creates. It also opens your eyes to the crisis of Global warming. To learn how much it's retreated over the years and how fast even more recently. It's worth the visit! The glacier has a lot of black gravel on top at the start of the hike. There are crevices. We got use to the crampons fairly quickly. I did not use the ice axe on this hike.
