The New River Gorge Bridge is one of West Virginia's most photographed sites. The bridge was selected to represent the state in the U.S. released commemorative quarter. In 2006, mint. The National Park Service listed the New River Gorge Bridge as an important historical resource in the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.
The Gorge Bridge of the New River is located on U. S. Route 19, just north of Fayetteville, WV. Interstates 64, 77, & 79 and U are within easy reach. S. Highway 60 (Midland Trail). It is about 30 minutes north of Beckley, about 70 minutes east of Charleston, and about 70 minutes south of Interstate 79. Canyon Rim Visitor Center offers outstanding bridge views on the north side of the bridge. If you have the time, consider driving the Fayette Station Road from below the bridge for some fantastic views.
