Parco dei Mostri

This beautiful whimsical eccentric park was designed in 1552 by Prince Vicino Orsini and architect Pirro Ligorio. It is a sculpted world of animals, temples, mythological creatures, gods and goddesses. Lots of beautiful greenery, winding paths, steps up and down, a great way to spend some relaxing time. Be sure to enter the giant screaming mouth (known as "the mouth of hell") when you visit the park, inside which there is a picnic table on the tongue and enough seating for a small group to have lunch.
