The Petrified Forest/Painted Desert is a nice park that is about 28 miles from the south entrance to the north. It is best if you can plan at least a half of a day to a full day to be able to explore the many hiking and scenic areas.There are numerous viewpoints along the drive to stop and take many photographs.
