Prairie Mountain is an uphill slog on a well-travelled trail to spectacular views of the eastern edge of the rocky Mountains, and foothills around Bragg Creek. You can even see Calgary in the distance. The trail is unmarked, but begins on Route 66 just across from the Elbow Falls Recreation Site parking lot. Prairie Mountain is considered by some to be open for hiking year-round, however if hiked in winter bring ice-spikes for your boots. The incline is very steep and gets very icy.
